WG2 will pay attention to the historical basis for contemporary identity databases and focus explicitly on the documentation itself, from a content, historical and material culture perspectives.

  • Academics and historical data – ethics, access and use, GDPR
  • Material culture of passports, visas, IDs
  • State imposed barriers to accessing ID for asylum and refugee claims
  • Quasi or Dual Citizenship status or extra-legal rights

  • Collation of bibliography for publication on HIDDEN
    website.
  • Panel participating in large conference
  • Training school with genealogy companies and GDPR experts on issues of ethical use of personal data
  • Regular WG meetings to coordinate, share research findings and plan further
    activities and workshop hosted at same time
